North Hollywood, Los Angeles, Wolf Theatre: la Television Academy ha comunicato i prodotti dell’industria dello spettacolo americana in corsa per ottenere il premio televisivo più prestigioso, gli Emmy Awards, secondo solo agli Oscar.
A proclamare le candidature in diretta Harvey Guillen (What We Do in the Shadows) e Brenda Song (Running Point).
Giunti alla 77a edizione, gli Emmy 2025 saranno presentati al Peacock Theater di Los Angeles da Nate Bargatze e trasmessi live nella notte tra sabato 13 e domenica 14 settembre prossimi.

A concorrere le serie tv e i programmi televisivi usciti tra il primo giugno 2024 e il 31 maggio 2025.
Scissione (Apple TV+) è la serie in testa per candidature, (corre in ben 27 categorie). Sempre per Apple The Studio. Grande successo per HBO al primo posto con 142 nomination, con The Penguin (24 nomination) e The White Lotus (23 nomination) e altre.
Disney+ e FX ottengono 128 nomination, grazie a The Bear, Dying For Sex, What We Do In The Shadows, Only Murders in the Building, Andor e Agatha All Along.
Netflix segue con 121 nomination, sperando di ripetere il successo del 2024 con Adolescence, simile a quanto fatto da Baby Reindeer.
Gli attori
Kathy Bates (Matlock) a 77 anni, e Owen Cooper (Adolescence) di 15 anni, sono la candidata più anziana e il candidato più giovane nella storia degli Emmy Awards.
C’è anche Harrison Ford con i suoi 83 anni, che interpreta il Dott. Paul Rhoades in Shrinking.
Nella categoria protagonisti compaiono Sterling K. Brown (Paradise), Pedro Pascal (The Last of Us) e Gary Oldman (Slow Horses).
Curiosità. Perché si chiamano Emmy?
Il nome Emmy fu scelto come sostantivo al femminile di “immy”, il tubo da ripresa usato nella produzione cinematografica e televisiva.
Il peso del successo
Ogni candidato vorrebbe poter alzare l’iconica statuetta dall’inconfondibile forma di una donna alata. Ma quanto pesa il successo? Il trofeo Emmy pesa 3,06 kg ed è realizzato in rame, nichel, argento e oro. Non troppo, ma nemmeno troppo poco.
